If theres one thing Autumn/Winter 2015 will be remembered for – it is the huge influence the 70’s has had and in particular ‘fringing’!! You can’t deny that fringing this season is EVERYWHERE…….from leather skirts, jackets and accessories including boots and bags. Thats the cool thing about fringing and boho chic – not only is it a huge trend for summer every year in particular festival season – this year it has spread over to Autumn/Winter – so the good news is……any pieces that you invested in for the summer – can transcend into this current season and beyond.
This outfit I’m wearing is my ‘nod’ to the whole ‘boho-chic-70’s-influence’ with a bit of fringing thrown in of course and sticking to classic Autumn/Winter colours of black and cream. I just want to talk about the off-the-shoulder top I’m wearing in particular. If there’s one piece of clothing you need to invest in for Autumn/Winter and one which will bring you through to next summer – is an off-the-shoulder top. I absolutely love this one as not only is it so comfortable to wear (and perfect for Dubai’s soaring summer temperatures and lovely winter) but it also doubles up as a fab off-the-shoulder dress which looks gorgeous with gladiators – (cue a key-look for next summer again!). I got this from the fabulous mum, toddler and accessories fashion design boutique – Tiny-Toots which is based here in Dubai and owned by the lovely Colette. Their designs are always so on-trend for both ladies and children’s fashion and they literally have the cutest stuff for kids.
Check out their Facebook and Instagram page for more details and gorgeous pics of the various items they sell. Tiny-Toots are also at Ripe Market every weekend along with Arte and Baby Bazaar where you can see their beautiful designs and which are usually modelled by designer Colette herself and her two gorgeous little girls.
I’ve finished off the look with some key-fringworthy accessories from H&M and Missguided. The bag which I picked up from H&M is my most used bag at the moment. Its perfect for this season and goes with so much in my wardrobe – along with being a great size to hold everything. The floppy hat which I have talked about in a recent blog post about my Autumn/Winter H&M accessory haul – link here – is such a good fit and amazing quality. I’m also dying to team this with a nice winter coat at home in Ireland for Christmas – again with that on-trend nod to the 70’s.
I have an obsession with fringed boots in particular this season and love these suede peep-toe ones from Missguided as they are perfect for Dubai and Ireland and will bring me right through to next summer. They are also fab teamed with a midi-length textured skirt or a leather pencil skirt and denim shirt so I’m dying to get a lot of wear out of them.
