I admit it, I have a slight fondness for the ol’ two-piece coordinated outfit! I wouldn’t go as far as saying I like everything ‘match-matchy’ – I just love the odd co-ord! #sorrynotsorry. Coordinated sets have really become fashionable within the last couple of years with high street stores such as Zara and Topshop bringing out fab pieces season after season! And it’s no exception with this cute horizontal striped two-piece!
The set itself is new Spring/Summer 2016 stock from Zara and is currently in stores right now – see here and here. Apart from the fact that I love it as a two-piece set, the top and skirt both look equally nice paired with different items. The top in particular can go with a multitude of options including leather leggings/trousers, pencil, A-line and midi-skirts, jeans, cute shorts for summer, culottes and wide-legged trousers amongst others! And not forgetting the skirt which will look amazing with a gorgeous shirt or blouse, chunky jumper, funky slogan t-shirt, sweat shirt and polo-neck for example. I plan on teaming the skirt with a fab navy buttoned-up chiffon blouse and statement necklace to give it a completely different look.
In regards to the colours used in the outfit, all I can say is…….on-point! I mean……there is hardly any colour that won’t look fab with this – black, navy, white, tan, pink, teal, lemon – its fair to say all bases are covered in terms of colour and matching the separates up!
The one thing I will say about this two-piece is, it comes up quite small in size. If you’re usually a size ‘small’ in Zara, I would go up a size in the skirt in particular.
In addition to the fabulousness that is the coordinated two-piece, I have to stop a minute and talk about the off-the-shoulder top! This trend seemed to sneak into the shops at the end of last summer, stayed around for Autumn and now back with a bang for Spring/Summer 2016. It’s such a flattering style, goes with soooo much and the type of top that can take you from the beach to the bar for summer holidays! It’s definitely up there as one of my favourite styles for Spring/Summer 2016.
I’ve teamed the outfit with some black patent pointy-toe boots (and my current favourite flat boots from ASOS) and a large Koton On clutch bag. Of course, the co-ord set would look fab with some heels also – I just went for the whole casual vibe with this look.
Price wise also – the two-piece is such good value – for my Dubai peeps, the top is only Dhs149 and the skirt is Dhs129 – (bargain). Link to buying it online is below ↓
P.S: I love how they have teamed the outfit with white boots – I think I may have to add a pair of classy white Chelsea boots onto my wish list like these ‘Enough Said’ ones from ASOS – see here and below!
