There……I’ve said it! Never did I think that some day after growing up in cold and rainy (most of the time) Ireland would I miss wearing winter clothes, especially woolies, jumpers and coats. But I do. Terribly. In fact I refuse to believe that it is still indeed very unusually hot in Dubai for this time of year (still in the 30’s during the day!) so much so, that I’m willing to sweat my ass off wearing jumpers and jackets coz you know….its winter…..that’s what you do!
Anyone that knows me well, knows that I absolutely LOVE winter. I love the cold. I love the rain and snow. In fact, just call me Elsa! Maybe it’s the fact that my birthday falls in January, but how I ended up in a hot desert is just baffling ha, ha! Truth be known, I really miss winter clothes. I miss buying my nice on-trend winter coat every year and matching scarf, hat and gloves. I miss layering everything up, black opaque tights and leather leggings. (Sigh….) Look…..I know theres like a week in Dubai in January that you can get away with warmer clothes but then its gone and it’s back to being a hot sweaty mess again before I know it! So for now, I will rejoice in the fact that I’m closer to that one week in January (ok maybe the whole month) when I can wear my leather jacket, bombers and JUMPERS!
This whole look is a favourite of mine. I love nothing more than teaming casual pieces with slightly more dressier items of clothing. Hence the casual Pull and Bear jumper teamed with this pleated on-trend Topshop skirt. I actually bought this skirt last summer and I’ve found it’s been such a fab transitional piece. I’ve got so much wear out of it……..definitley an ‘all-seasons’ wear skirt. You can buy similar here.
The jumper I couldn’t resist. It’s grey. No-brainer. It has a slogan ‘REASON’. It’s trendy and it was good value. So all-in-all, it was a must-buy. It’s also something that can be dressed up or down and will look equally as good with a pair of jeans or black skinny leather leggings and with a white shirt underneath with the collar peeping out. You can buy similar from Pull and Bear here.
I am loving floral ankle boots this season and these Public Desire ones are no exception. Complete with perspex heel, they look great with dresses, skirts and jeans and really make a statement with the floral fabric print. These particular ones seem to be sold out on the Public Desire website but these Dune alternatives from ASOS and which are on sale come in a close second – buy here.
Ok….can we just stop for a moment to appreciate the cuteness of this Zara micro-bag though. I have a thing these days for ‘tiny micro fluffy embellished’ bags (ha, ha) and I just couldn’t resist this little Zara one. This bag is actually part of Zara’s Limited Edition Horoscope Collection. I picked up the Virgo (even though I’m a Capricorn but just seem to be drawn to Virgo’s everywhere – I married one!) because I just loved the colour and design of it (and fluffiness of course). It just about holds my phone, a couple of cards and cash, a lippie and my keys – but look, thats all you need…..right? I just love the concept of this little collection and have my eye on a few more of them. This little cute ‘Doll Applique Virgo’ cutie is available in Zara at the moment – you can buy it here.
As always, thank you for stopping by for a read. I’m heading off to sunny Australia for Christmas so my next blog post will probably be early Jan when you know…..I’ll have about 5 million New Years resolutions, I’ll attempt to be motivated, I’ll be all full of ‘New Year New Me’ crap and then I’ll be back to Me, Myself and Irene again ha, ha! Wishing you all the most WONDERFUL Christmas, hope Santa spoils all of you and you get everything on your wish list and have a fantastic New Year. Thank you so much to all my loyal readers, I’m not a soppy person but you inspire and motivate me to keep going with the blog so here’s to 2017……may it bring more shopping, more credit card bills, more sales, more trends but most of all…..sheer happiness!
